How We Review Products
Our goal is to help readers understand what is worth considering, what the tradeoffs are, and which products make sense for different needs and budgets.
Research first
We begin with product specifications, manufacturer documentation, current pricing, warranty information, compatibility requirements, and reputable third-party information when it adds useful context.
Compare what matters
We focus on factors that affect real ownership: performance, durability, usability, compatibility, maintenance, value, and meaningful differences between competing options.
Explain tradeoffs
A useful buying guide should not pretend every recommendation is perfect. We aim to explain important drawbacks and identify who should consider an alternative.
Hands-on experience and research
When an article is based on hands-on use, that should be stated clearly. When coverage is research-based, we do not imply that a product was personally tested if it was not.
